What does the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher E-learning course consist of?
The course consists of 5 modules: GWO First Aid Refresher e-learning, GWO Working at Heights Refresher e-learning, GWO Sea Survival Refresher e-learning, GWO Fire Awareness Refresher e-learning and GWO Manual Handling Refresher e-learning. They can be taken separately or together.
When do I receive access to the e-learning?
After registering for GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher E-learning, the delegate receives access to online teaching material by e-mail immediately.
What is GWO?
GWO stands for Global Wind Organization and is since 2012 the standard for the people working in the wind industry, both onshore and offshore. GWO is formed by a cooperation between several large players in the wind industry.
How is the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher E-learning taught?
First you have to do the theoretical part at home at your own pace. Afterwards you can complete the practical part at one of our training facilities.
What is the purpose of the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher course?
This GWO Basic Safety Training is a course in which the delegate gets to know the risks & dangers of working in the wind industry. Every 2 years, this GWO Basic Safety Training offshore refresher course needs to be completed. During the course, the delegate will refresh his memory on how to proceed if there is a danger during offshore activities.
How long does the GWO Refresher e-learning certificate remain valid?
The certificate is valid for 2 years. After that, the training must be repeated, so the delegate stays sharp and is made aware of new developments. When your certificate is almost expired and you want to refresh you can take another GWO Basic Safety Training refresher.
What does WINDA stand for?
WINDA is the name of the Global Wind Industry Training Records Database. It maintains data on the certification status of GWO Certified Training Providers as well as the status of delegates that have attended courses. The delegate is required to create an account for WINDA, as a sticker and registration are added in WINDA upon succesful completion of a course.
Click here to create an account in WINDA. Upon succesful registration, the user receives a WINDA ID. The WINDA ID is required for us to add the GWO course to the account of a delegate, including the Basic Training Course.
The employer also has the option of creating an account, allowing them to verify the training status of their (potential) employees.

Do I need a physical examination for the practical part of this course?
GWO courses do not require a medical examination.
