The GWO Basic Safety Training onshore is meant for people who work in the wind industry. During this course the delegates learn which risks and dangers could appear when working in the wind industry. They will also learn how to act in case of an emergency.

Other skills that will be developed during this course is how to provide First Aid, how to save themselves and others and how to deal with fires. By learning this the delegates will know how to act in such situations. By practicing emergency situations in real life the delegates will be prepared in a realistic way. The onshore GWO Basic Safety Training is different than the offshore version. This course only focusses on working in the onshore wind industry, like in an onshore wind turbine for example.

De GWO Basic Safety Training onshore is bedoeld voor mensen die werkzaam zijn in de windindustrie. Tijdens deze training leren de deelnemers welke risico’s en gevaren zich kunnen voordoen bij het werken in de windindustrie. Daarnaast leren ze hoe ze moeten handelen in geval van nood.

Andere vaardigheden die deelnemers tijdens deze training ontwikkelen, zijn het verlenen van Eerste Hulp, het redden van zichzelf en anderen en het bestrijden van brand. Hierdoor weten ze wat ze moeten doen in dergelijke situaties. Door het oefenen van noodsituaties in de praktijk worden de deelnemers op een realistische manier voorbereid. De onshore GWO Basic Safety Training is anders dan de offshore variant. Deze training is namelijk alleen gericht op werk in de onshore windindustrie, bijvoorbeeld in een onshore windturbine.

De GWO Basic Safety Training onshore bestaat uit 4 modules die allemaal bestaan uit een theoretisch gedeelte en een praktijk gedeelte. De theorie die wordt geleerd, wordt later toegepast in de praktijk. Zo gaan deelnemers bijvoorbeeld bij de Working at Height module daadwerkelijk de hoogte in.

Voordat de deelnemers aan het werk gaan in bijvoorbeeld een windturbine dient de onshore GWO Basic Safety Training voltooid te zijn. De modules die worden behandeld tijdens deze training kunnen ook los worden gevolgd: GWO Working at Height, GWO First Aid, GWO Fire Awareness en GWO Manual Handling.
